About Thrive Orthopedics
Thrive Orthopedics designs and manufactures high-performance carbon fiber ankle-foot orthoses and related orthopedic products. We serve clinicians, distributors, and patients by providing innovative bracing solutions that improve mobility, function, and quality of life.
We are looking for a meticulous, detail-oriented Quality & Fulfillment Technician to ensure every device meets our standards before it reaches a clinician or patient. Inspection is the core of this role; you will also support daily order fulfillment as volume requires.
Position Summary
The Quality & Fulfillment Technician spends most of the day inspecting incoming materials, in-process work, and finished carbon fiber orthoses, documenting results, and filling out prepared inspection checklists. When inspection work allows, you will support the fulfillment team with picking, packing, and shipping orders.
The ideal candidate has a sharp eye for defects, follows procedures exactly, keeps clean records, and takes pride in catching problems before a customer ever sees them.
Primary Responsibilities: Inspection & Quality Control (~75%)
- Verify incoming materials and supplier shipments against the packing slip and purchase order.
- Visually inspect finished carbon fiber braces for defects such as cracks, bubbles, rough edges, or finish issues, using a simple checklist.
- Take basic measurements with tools like calipers and rulers to confirm products match specifications.
- Pass good product on to inventory or shipping.
- Fill out inspection checklists and log lot numbers.
- Tag and separate rejected product and let your supervisor know.
- Check returned devices and note what you find.
- Keep the inspection area clean and organized.
Supporting Responsibilities: Fulfillment (~25%)
- Support picking, packing, and labeling of customer orders, verifying SKUs, sizes, and quantities before shipment.
- Perform a final packaging and labeling check on outgoing orders.
- Help receive inbound shipments and stage them for incoming inspection.
- Generate shipping labels and process shipments through UPS, FedEx, USPS, or other carriers as needed.
- Keep quarantined and nonconforming product clearly separated from released inventory.
- Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and returns processing.
- Communicate shortages, damaged goods, or delays to the appropriate team members.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- No prior inspection experience required. We will train you.
- A good eye for detail and the patience to check things thoroughly.
- Ability to follow step-by-step instructions and checklists.
- Basic computer skills (email, simple data entry, barcode scanner).
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Willingness to speak up when something doesn't look right.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in a warehouse, shipping, manufacturing, or production setting.
- Experience with any type of quality checks or product inspection.
- Experience working with medical, orthotic, or healthcare products.
- Comfort in a small-business environment where tasks vary day to day.
What Success Looks Like
Nothing leaves the building that doesn't meet spec. A successful Quality & Fulfillment Technician catches defects early, keeps inspection checklists filled out, tracks lot numbers, and pitches in on fulfillment so orders still ship accurately and on time.
Compensation
Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications.
