Frequently Asked Questions - Carbon Fiber Foot Plates

Frequently Asked Questions - Carbon Fiber Foot Plates

Will this product help with my condition?

Thrive Orthopedics does not provide medical advice or guidance on product selection. Please work with a medical professional to determine medical necessity and product selection.

Will these foot plates fit in a variety of shoes?

Yes, Thrive carbon fiber foot plates are meant to be worn under your current insole in your regular footwear. Our foot plates fit in a variety of shoes, including sneakers and boots

What size foot plate should I order?

Due to variation in shoes sizes amongst different brands, the best way to identify the appropriate foot plate size is to follow these instructions:

  1. Remove your current insole from your shoe and measure the length of that insole with a ruler. Note: For a precise measurement to ensure a proper fit, use a ruler that can measure in millimeters.
  2. Reference the Thrive Orthopedics Foot Plate Sizing Guide HERE
  3. Locate the foot plate you'd like to purchase and find the size that is closest to BUT NOT LARGER THAN your current insole.

Pro-Tip: When in doubt, always go a size down. The foot plate is placed beneath your current insole and you will not be able to detect if it is slightly shorter than your current insole while in use.

What do carbon fiber foot plates do?

Carbon fiber foot plates come in both rigid and flexible (also known as semi-rigid) styles. When placed beneath your current insole, these foot plates stiffen your shoe and reduce bending to alleviate pressure from the metatarsal joints and toes to reduce foot pain.

What thicknesses do these foot plates come in?

  • The thickness for our rigid foot plate is 1.3 mm
  • The thickness for our flexible (also known as semi-rigid) foot plate is 1.0 mm

Do you have semi-rigid foot plates?

Yes, The "semi-rigid" foot plates are on our website as Thrive® X-Glide Flexible Carbon Fiber Insoles

Which thickness and style is right for me?

Thrive Orthopedics does not provide medical advice. Our rigid foot plates provide maximum support and our flexible foot plates provide flexible support for more active individuals.

Do your foot plates have a warranty?
